French Antiques in Lafayette
Opening its doors in 1992 within the heart of Lafayette’s Oil Center, Renaissance Market has steadily become the premier location to find thoughtful gifts and home dècor. Mary Landry Hopkins and Jim Hopkins travel annually to Europe to gather French antiques and accents. Renaissance Market has been offering South Louisiana the finest collection of French antique furniture, art, jewelry, candles, seasonal decorations, and religious items and much more. Since expanding 12 years ago we also have began to include a large women’s fashion section.
In 2008 the couple opened the Brasserie Bistro adjacent to the store, creating a unique environment of convenience and ease. The Brasserie offers a wide selection of Lebanese food and wine, including unsurpassed dishes from Mary’s family recipes. While the menu features daily specials, some favorites include assorted paninis, chicken salad served on a bed of lettuce and freshly sliced avocado and select salads, such as fig salad. Currently the Brasserie features lunch Monday – Saturday, but will also host monthly dinners and evening wine and cheese events highlighting local talent.
Whether you’re shopping for yourself or a friend; for a small gift or for that one piece of furniture that will stand out among the rest, Renaissance Market will not disappoint. The store has a knowledgeable and helpful staff and Mary offers in and out of store design assistance, if a more in depth consultation is needed. The goal is to preserve an old fashioned, personal approach while providing high quality antique goods and accents. Together with the Brasserie Bistro, Renaissance Market is a convenient and unique combination of Southern hospitality, exceptional cuisine and fine home furnishings.
